Cadenza are aware that the church singer plays a vital role in creating the perfect atmosphere for your wedding day. Cadenza performs only with Ireland’s most sought after solo signers who are classically trained and in much demand on both the concert platform and as soloists for weddings. Their versatility and their ability to provide beautiful renditions of songs are superb and all the singers we work with bring across a wealth of experience with musical flair, performed with stylistic interpretations. All musical genres are catered for, from classical to contemporary, and from traditional to modern.
Diarmuid O’Brien
Diarmuid O’ Brien from Limerick is well renowned as one of Irelands finest and sought after fiddle players. Having started learning traditional Irish music at the age of 9 he had won all Ireland honours by the age of 15. His vibrant fiddle playing and unique style has earned Diarmuid a high reputation in the music industry and has seen him tour extensively with various groups performing in countries throughout the world including America, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Dubai, to mention but a few. He has performed at home and all over Europe on all stages including the Irish National Concert Hall. He has performed for Uachtaran Na hEireann. (The Irish President), among other celebrities and public figures such as An Taoiseach (Irish prime minister), and the Prime Minister of Australia. In 2007 Diarmuid released a CD entitled “Cairde Caridin” . The CD which received critical acclaim reached no 8 in the “Top 10 albums of the year 2007” by the Irish Echo new newspaper in New York City and received 8/10 in a review by Sarah McQuaid of “Hot Press” magazine.
Lorna Moore
Lorna Moore is a recent MA graduate of the CIT Cork school of Music where she specialised in piano performance/accompaniment and pedagogy under the direction of Sabine Ducrot and Niall O Luasa. Prior to her studies in Cork, Lorna completed her Classical piano grades under the direction of Stuart O’ Sullivan in the Limerick School of Music and was awarded a bursary for her outstanding achievements in the senior category of Feile Luimní in 2008 and went on to receive numerous prizes for her participation in other prestigious competitions at Feis Ceoil and Feis Maitiu.
Most recently Lorna was awarded an LRSL Teaching Diploma Certificate from Rockschool and was a participant on the BAST training course led by Ian Davidson. As well as her qualifications in piano and teaching, Lorna is passionate about singing having completed her Classical and Contemporary singing grades, LLCM and ALCM diplomas with distinction under the careful guidance of Marian Crowley at the CIT Cork School of Music and Gemma Sugrue at Voiceworks Studios.
In 2013, Lorna received the title of ‘highest placed singer’ in the CSM Advanced Senior Recital competition. Following this, she collobarated with composer C.S.L Parker for a number of recording sessions and sang one of his original compositions written for the 1916 commemoration this year.
As well as competitive performances Lorna often features as a recitalist at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick as part of their lunchtime concert series and sings with the renound Cork-based choir Madrigal ’75.
Lorna is a popular wedding vocalist/accompanist in the Munster area and performs with the Cadenza Wedding Trio and other Limerick and Cork performers. As well as performing and teaching, Lorna is also conductor of the prize-winning Douglas Harmonia Singers.
Lorna currently teaches piano and singing at Voiceworks Studios, Cork and the Lee Valley Academy, Macroom. Lorna is a passionate educator and looks forward to seeing her students develop and grow in their musical accomplishments.
Noelle Morrissey
Noelle Morrissey is fast building a reputation as one of Munster’s most sought after wedding singers. As well as being a gifted and versatile vocalist, she is also classically trained on both piano and violin. Noelle has been a member of the Kilkenny Youth Choir and Youth Orchestra for the last number of years and recently completed a degree at University College Cork in Music and Religion. She has toured extensively both in Ireland, Europe and the US and in 2012 she performed with the International Youth Choir and Orchestra in Medjugorje, Bosnia, where she sang solo to an audience of 40,000 people. Noelle is widely recognised as one of the most dynamic vocalists in Ireland today who is equally comfortable performing classical, contemporary as well Irish traditional songs to suit any occasion.
Claire Heffernan
Claire is a versatile vocalist who is passionate about her craft. She is a classically trained soprano as well as a popular music vocalist: a recipe which has resulted in her fast becoming a very in demand singer throughout Munster. She frequently performs as a solo vocalist for weddings, and also at corporate events; most recently for Irish Distillers, The Papa Zitas, and the CSM Jazz Big Band.
She has been singing with the internationally-acclaimed chamber choir Voci Nuove for two years. With this highly-skilled ensemble she has performed in Vienna as well as winning the International Choral Competition in Derry. Claire is a vocal coach at Voiceworks Studio, Cork, a vocal tuition centre at which she is also the Head of Musicianship and the Musical Director of Vocalize ensemble.
She is also a professional classical pianist and Irish harpist, holding a 1st class honours in both her Masters in Music Performance and her Bachelor of Music, both from CIT Cork School of Music. Claire has been one of the leading harpists for Shannon Heritage since 2007.
With many years of wedding music experience behind her, she still looks forward to creating the right atmosphere for every occasion.
Sarah O’Kennedy
Sarah O’Kennedy has just won WeddingsOnline.ie Church Singer of the Year 2013. She is passionate about singing at weddings and her highlights include singing at the wedding of Brian O’Driscoll and actor Amy Huberman in Joseph’s Church in Aughavas, and singing in St. Mary’s Undercroft Chapel in the House of Commons in London. Sarah is a long-time soloist with Anuna, has recorded, traveled and performed extensively with the world-famous group and through Anuna has collaborated with such artists as the Corrs, the Chieftains, Brian Kennedy and Secret Garden. She was a soloist on the BBC’s Songs of Praise and performed for taoisigh and presidents alike. As well as her love of singing jazz, in 2010 and 2011 Sarah was the principal female soloist with The Irish Harp Orchestra for their Christmas tours of Germany.
Sarah is classically trained and specialises in being able to sing in any style. To every wedding she brings experience, reliability and excellence of performance backed by over 15 years in the business. She lives in Limerick and teaches voice at the Irish Harp Centre, Annacotty.
